Pentecost is Coming: Help us to read in many languages, help us to decorate the church!

Gallery St. Micael (2).jpg

Sunday May 24 is Pentecost, and the congregation will be invited to read Acts 2:5-11 in any language they speak. You can download those verses from Bibles in many languages here: https://www.bible.com/languages

After the services, at about 12:30pm, we could use help taking down the Pentecost decorations and hanging the rainbow banners to get the church ready for Pride month!

Summer of Conversations

Gallery St. Micael (2).jpg

Interested in the IAF conversations that change communities?  Want to learn more about specific ministries within the church? Want to get to know your fellow parishioners better? Whatever brings you to this space, this summer we are inviting everyone to participate in conversations for our community, our church, and our own spiritual growth.

May 17 and 31: Do You Have a Problem with the Creed?

Gallery St. Micael (2).jpg

Join us for a two‑part forum series exploring the Nicene Creed, what it means to belong in Church, and what role belief can play in that belonging. Clergy will lead a historically informed look at the language, the history, and the future(?) of the creeds. We will meet on May 17 and May 31 at 10:15 am in the Pavilion. The first session is now available as a video on our Adult Formation page and on our Youtube Channel.

Study on the Book of Acts

Gallery St. Micael (2).jpg

Join Paul Hanneman, Shogo Reyes, and Simone Drinkwater for a study on the book of Acts. See how Luke’s early community and his vision for God at work in the world are similar and different from our experience today. No previous experience with Bible study is needed. We hope to engage both head and heart as we read and respond to this important piece of scripture. Tuesdays from 6 to 730. Meal at 530. First class May 26.

St. Michael’s will provide the “main,” please bring salads, sides, and desserts. On Saturday morning June 13th, we will march in the Pride Parade with Episcopalians from across Albuquerque. Join us as we celebrate our LGBTQ+ community. All are welcome.

Documentary “Glass Light” Now Online

Gallery St. Micael (2).jpg

On Sunday April 26, we saw the premiere of a documentary about our stained glass, produced by Bob Bowman and Oleta Saunders, incorporating original footage shot by Paul Saunders as the windows were being created 75 years ago! The film explores our stained glass windows by John Tatschl, created for our original church building (now the parish hall) and celebrates them as a remarkable treasure of modernist glass and biblical storytelling. You can now watch the documentary on our Youtube page.

BackPack Drive

We are still collecting backpacks for the Landing ministry. Solid, dark colored backpacks, hygiene kits with travel-size toiletries, and USB-C chargers would be appreciated. Bring a backpack (or two!) to church on Sunday. You can drop them off in the front office, or contact Angel Nalubega with any questions.
