Isaiah 61:10-11 and Psalm 13
We all have moments in our life when we are overcome with grief, hopelessness, and despair. We feel forlorn and thoughtfully pray for answers from God. Answers to these prayers are oftentimes overlooked because they come to us in forms we are neither expecting nor even wanting. These scriptures remind us to put our faith in the Lord and to trust in him. Reminders that we are not forgotten, we have not been abandoned. Delight in the beauty that surrounds. The warm sun on your face, the peacefulness of a snowstorm, and the spring blossoms of a fruit tree reminds us of God’s presence. The answers we seek, the light to our eyes are ever present and we need to have the faith to let go and trust that we are comforted in the ‘garment of salvation’ and the ‘robe of righteousness’. Given the proper environment the seed or the bud will sprout and flourish. Like the seed or the bud, our lives will flourish when surrounded by faith and fellowship in the Lord.
