Journey through Lent
You’re invited to join St. Michael's as we make our way from Ash Wednesday through Lent and Holy Week to the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection on Easter. See below for our schedule of services, formation offerings and meditations for the season.
Ash Wednesday
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5 when we will have three services of Holy Eucharist: The Imposition of Ashes at 7:00am, 12:00pm, and 6:00pm. We will also offer Ashes-to-Go from 8am to 10am in the East Parking Lot

Lenten Book Studies
Wednesday evenings during Lent starting 2/25 5:30p dinner 6:00pm discussion
White Rage: Beginning with reconstruction, Carol Anderson narrates how black success has been repeatedly answered with white violence throughout American History. She also examines how this conversation plays itself out in two important arenas that affect us deeply today: access to education and the electoral process. Conversations will be Wednesday evenings during Lent, beginning February 25 at 6. 5:30p, if you would like to be there for meal and fellowship. Sign up coming soon!
Thursday Afternoons During Lent starting 2/26 1p-3p
The Cross and the Lynching Tree: Gazing unflinchingly upon the cross as the frame for Christian theology. James Cone draws poignant and important parallels between this ancient instrument of Roman torture turned symbol of salvation and the lynching tree as a longstanding symbol of pain and violence. Cone also guides us toward how to hold these two symbols together in a way that acknowledges our common grief and yearning for a world that reflects God’s justice. Conversations will be Thursday afternoons during Lent, 1pm-3pm beginning February 26. Sign up coming soon.
